On 26 October, a seminar organized by NetPort Energy Cluster was conducted as part of the project DRIV in Blekinge. The purpose of the seminar was to highlight the area from different perspectives such as technology, infrastructure and security. Often the term “smart” is used in very many areas without clarifying what you actually mean. We listened to some tens of companies and organizations that interpreted the concept of its own business in terms of products and services.
After a brief introduction of NetPort, we listened to the Karlsham company Noda, which, based on its activities, talked about optimization of district heating networks, energy efficiency in buildings and preventive analysis in order to be prepared for what will happen. Then, the Gothenburg company Raybased continued to develop thoughts about the Internet of Things (IoT) with the benefit and value of developing services for more efficient property service and maintenance. ABB continued to develop the theme based on solutions for today’s and tomorrow’s real estate.
Appcorn from Karlshamn initially used apps for mobile and talked about the increased use of direct conversation with the mobile and other technologies at home. Energikontor Sydost gave examples of projects that are active in, as well as the opportunities for financing good ideas in the energy field. Boverket put the energy consumption in a property in a process perspective from planning to demolition, ie the entire life of a building. Sustainable Innovation from Stockholm developed thoughts about the infrastructure as needed from the perspective of IoT, electrification and digitization. Säkerhetskontoret and TrueSec gave examples of security and threats to connected gadgets, with some examples of how people can relatively easily access data about us and what we do and want.
We learned that smart buildings can be seen in many perspectives with many challenges with solutions based on everyone’s skills. NetPort Energy Clusters will take the experience and feedback from the seminar and consider the possibilities for further activities in the area. One step in that direction is to have in-house technology for measuring and controlling light, air, attendance and other parameters.
