During NetPort Energy Cluster’s latest meeting, with the theme of daring, members discussed the successes of SMEs, smart buildings, long-term behavioral changes and fossil fuels. The day ended with lectures from the inspiring adventures Annelie Pompe and Oskar Kihlborg.
According to Theresia Bergdahl, who works at Karlshamns municipality’s growth and development department, it is good for small and medium-sized companies right now, which means a greater demand for land than is currently available in the municipality. There is a risk that companies will establish themselves in other municipalities, which in some cases has already occurred.
Within the Smart Buildings area, NetPort Science Park continues to equip facilities with advanced technology to measure and control light, temperature, electricity and other parameters. The supplier Raybased told about opportunities for more efficient management created with increased digitalization. NetPort Science Park invites you to a seminar this fall to continue highlighting the subject. Preliminary date is set to October 26th.
In terms of long-term behavioral changes, NetPort Science Park and BTH discuss the opportunity to offer education in the field of sustainability (ecology, economy and social) where the message is adapted to the organization and the individual. The concept is inspired by a project in Manchester called Carbon Literacy, which has achieved great success.
In the field of fossil fuels there are several members who already use environmentally friendly fuels. Energy Office Sydost operates a project together with the respective county administrative board, supported by the Swedish Energy Agency, to create fossil-free fuel networks, which focus more on public organizations in Kalmar, Kronoberg and Blekinge. During the fall of 2017 a number of hits will be arranged about ” light and heavy transport ”. Project Manager Anna Månsson informed about the opportunities for private companies to participate in their activities.
Katarina Hansell, project manager and responsible for NetPort Energy Cluster, told about the project CLOUD, run by Stina Apel. Part of the project will map HVO 100 facilities in southern Sweden to identify the need for filling stations in the Baltic Link corridor. Samuel Henningsson, CEO of NetPort Science Park, also announced projects in Blekinge around the highway for the trucks.
In the end of the day, the adventures Annelie Pompe and Oskar Kihlborg discussed the theme – To Dare. It is easy to draw parallels between Annelie’s adventure and to interact with other companies – that we must dare to trust ourselves and others. Oskar Kihlborg told of his expression VASKA, which stands for will, attitude, cooperation, knowledge and everything else. He stressed that we can begin in ourselves to protect the environment.
– Being brave does not mean that you are not afraid. It is ourselves limiting ourselves and daring means that we only need to be brave for a short while when we overcome our own thoughts, one of the lessons that Annelie Pompe shared during his lecture.
